The Outback Way: Oh the things you will see

Along the Outback Way we saw lots of flowers, camels (alive and dead), snakes, waterholes, roads that double as airports and other cool stuff.

Some shy wild camels heading off into the scrub after we stopped. The guide at Cable Beach (Broome) said there about 400,000 roaming the deserts of Australia.

A poisonous looking snake crossing the road. About 1.5m long. We did not stop to check out the relevant gland to ID it.

Camel bones.

The Royal Flying Doctors road/airstrip sign at Warburton Roadhouse. We came across other  sections like this on our travels.

A rock waterhole (with water) in the desert. There we flocks of finches and galahs gathered about these.

The flower of the Isotoma (Julia studied this plant in her honours year).

A waterhole with a grate - to stop the roos falling in and drowning we guessed.

Rafts of purple flowers at Kata Tjuta (The Olgas).
